Note:

Areca SAS and SATA ll RAID controller rmware version

1.43 date: Feb 2007 and later has supported the ATA-8

spec for HDD microcode download, allowing customer using

nash DOS utility or web browser to upgrade ATA-8 spec for

microcode download supported HDD's rmware connected

with Areca's entire family RAID controllers without necessary

removing any single drive and upgrade. Areca has provided

one utility for customer to make the ATA-8 spec for microcode

download drive’s rmware for readable by Areca rmware.

Upgrading Firmware Through CLI

This Command Line Interface (CLI) provides you to congure and

manage the Areca SAS RAID controller components in Windows,

Linux, FreeBSD and more environments. The CLI is useful in en-

vironments where a graphical user interface (GUI) is not avail-

able. Through the CLI, you perform rmware upgrade that you can

perform with the McRAID storage manager GUI. From rmware

version 1.43 and CLI version 1.72.250 beginning, the controller has

added the rmware update through the CLI on the controller.

To update the controller rmware, follow the procedure below:

Parameter:<path=<PATH_OF_FIRMWARE_FILE>>

Fn: Firmware Updating.

Ex: Update Firmware And File Path Is In [C:\FW\ARC1110FIRM.BIN.]

Command: sys updatefw path=c:\fw\arc1110rm.bin [Enter]
